You'LL Learn

The Team Reset process has four steps:

ReGroup
ReThink
ReShape
ReLaunch

It has been designed as a simple framework to help leaders and their teams come together, process and learn from the changes they have been through, get clear on what success looks like, agree on where to focus efforts, what is needed and how to make it happen.

  • It is not necessarily a linear process; it is also a useful framework to help leaders and their teams work out what step they need to spend their time on.
  • The Rethink is about re-strategising and repurposing but is not necessarily a complete strategic process, it is about what the team needs over a defined period of time.
  • It brings people’s thinking together constructively and gives the team a clear purpose to engage with.
  • Standing in the stakeholders’ shoes can change peoples’ perspective, change priorities and shift mindset.

It’s important that all voices are heard and people are engaged with the process to get commitment to the outcomes – the team should contract how they will do this at the start of the session.

It helps to be curious about what is driving your thinking and be willing to consider something different. Repeated why questions help build greater understanding.

Step the team into the future without being constrained by the current situation - use the magic wand question.
