Research from hospice workers in the US shows that the top five regrets that people have in life are:

  1. I wish I hadn't worked so hard
  2. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends
  3. I wish I had let myself be happier
  4. I wish I'd had the courage to express my true self
  5. I wish I'd lived a life true to my dreams, instead of what others expected of me

Watch McGonigal's TED talk and you can add seven and a half minutes to your life and if you follow her methods you can turn that seven and a half minutes to 10 years!

Well... it is fun to watch and it will give you pause for thought and reflection on what you can do today to avoid future regrets.

Using research around the benefits of gaming and her own experience of wanting to die, Jane explains the concept of post traumatic growth and the benefits that some people feel after a life and death experience.

She demonstrates with simple exercises how to build physical, mental, emotional and social resilience to show that we can add to our life and have greater meaning without the traumatic event.
